The Project

Keeping up with a high-volume recycled aggregate operation.

Pave-Al works on major infrastructure projects throughout the GTA and produces recycled aggregates from its Mississauga operation.

Arro began working with Pave-Al through an industry referral. Since then, the relationship has grown into recurring concrete and asphalt crushing throughout the year.

Some campaigns are relatively straightforward. Others have required Arro to run around the clock with two crushing spreads operating simultaneously, producing recycled concrete and RAP at the same time.

During peak campaigns, Arro has produced more than 25,000 tonnes per week for multiple consecutive weeks.

The Challenge

High production. Limited space. Material shipping every day.

Land in the GTA is valuable, and Pave-Al's yard has to do a lot within a limited footprint.

At peak production, the operation has shipped as much as 5,500 tonnes of material per day with relatively little finished inventory sitting on the ground.

That means crushing production has to stay closely aligned with what is leaving the yard.

Arro's mobile setup allows the crushing operation to work within the available space while managing multiple products and adjusting as stockpiles and production requirements change.

Equipment Layout

Less handling. Less work for the customer.

Equipment layout matters.

Arro has been able to configure its spread in a way that reduces double handling of certain materials compared with Pave-Al's previous setup.

Rather than relying on Pave-Al's loader to continually support the crushing operation, Arro can handle more of the process within its own spread.

That frees customer equipment and operators for other work while reducing unnecessary material movement around an already busy yard.

Tracked Production

If something doesn't add up, we want to know why.

When crushing is paid by the tonne, production records and scale accuracy matter.

Arro tracks production so there is information to work from if numbers don't line up or a scale needs attention.

That mattered during one Pave-Al campaign when a scale malfunction resulted in a significant billing error. Once the discrepancy was identified, Arro worked through the numbers and credited Pave-Al the full amount owed within approximately one week.

Mistakes can happen. Track the numbers, own the problem, and make it right.

A Recurring Relationship

More than showing up and crushing a pile.

After approximately three years of working together, the relationship between Arro and Pave-Al extends beyond individual crushing campaigns.

The teams coordinate production, equipment, inventory, and changing requirements throughout the year. Pave-Al has also referred Arro to multiple other customers.

For Arro, that's the kind of relationship we're trying to build.
